CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA volunteers are community members who complete specialized training and receive ongoing program support to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. Their efforts focus solely on ensuring the child’s safety, health, emotional well-being, and need for a stable, permanent home.

When children are removed from the only home they have ever known and placed in foster care, they need guidance, consistency, and encouragement. The dedication of a CASA volunteer provides hope for the child.

CASA volunteers can attend school meetings to help secure appropriate academic support, they meet with the child’s team, spend meaningful time with the child in the community, and they speak up in court to address progress and concerns as it relates to the individual child’s best interest.
